Kelsey is a second year in the History and Renaissance Studies PhD programs and works on the seventeenth-century British empire.  Thus far, her research has focused on the survival of Catholicism in the wake of the Reformation and how Catholics attempted to carve out physical, intellectual, textual, and theological spaces within the British Empire.  Moving forward, she is incorporating other minority groups and considering policies and practices of religious and ethnic pluralism and accommodation throughout the British Atlantic world
